Softball Recap: Cuba Wildcats vs. St. Clair Bulldogs
If Cuba was riding high fresh off their 15-9 takedown of Richland on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 22-12 to the St. Clair Bulldogs on Thursday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Cuba got a massive performance out of Shannon Black, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. With that strong performance, Black is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Jerri Forester was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Cuba's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for St. Clair, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-11.
Coming up, Cuba will welcome Newburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Clair does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
