Nikiski faced Eagle River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bulldogs walked away with  a   2-0  victory over the Wolves. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.
 The  win didn't come easy: Eagle River scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21,  25-18.
 Blakeley Jorgensen paced Nikiski's offense, picking up ten kills. Jorgensen got some help from  Milly Hornung and her 19 assists.  Evelyn Reichert controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Nikiski has  been performing  well recently as they've  won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-4 record  this season. As for Eagle River,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 25-8.
 Nikiski didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  1-1  tie against Service on the 27th. As for Eagle River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  2-0  victory against Nome-Beltz on the 27th.
