Softball Recap: Pike County's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pike County extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 4-1. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Newnan Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

As for Newnan, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Newnan's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Watson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pike County will head out to take on Callaway at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newnan, they will face off against Northgate at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
