Recap: San Gabriel Academy Eagles vs. Carpinteria Warriors
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the San Gabriel Academy Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 42-28 to the Warriors. It was the first time this season that San Gabriel Academy let down their fans at home.
Leading Carpinteria to victory were Jamaica Cook and Armarisse Camargo. Cook dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Camargo dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cook has scored at least a third of Carpinteria's points. Charlotte Cooney was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five steals.
San Gabriel Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10. As for Carpinteria, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.
San Gabriel Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carpinteria, they will face off against Grand Terrace at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
