Football Recap: Tonganoxie Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Tonganoxie's offense. They took a blow against the Spring Hill Broncos on Friday, falling 35-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Chieftains in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost three in a row.

Bodee Maslak threw for 61 yards on three of six attempts. Jacob Morenz was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards. On the ground, Blake Riedel rushed for 36 yards.

Jordan Miller had an outrageously good game for Spring Hill as he rushed for 26 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 92 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Maysen Dodson, who rushed for 89 yards on only seven carries.

Tonganoxie's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Spring Hill, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Tonganoxie has already played their next matchup, a 40-15 victory against Lansing on the 19th. As for Spring Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-14 defeat against Eudora on the 19th.
