Basketball Recap: Willow Glen Takes a Loss

Willow Glen lost against Evergreen Valley back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Willow Glen Rams fell 51-40 to the Evergreen Valley Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while the Cougars are ranked 144th).

Evergreen Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rayleen Sandhu, who posted 15 points and three steals. What's more, Sandhu posted three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aastha Bhagat, who had ten points.

Willow Glen's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Evergreen Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Willow Glen has already played their next contest, a 35-34 loss against Prospect on the 18th. Evergreen Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
