Volleyball Recap: Sweeny Now 14-1 over Last 15 Games

There's no place like home for Sweeny, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Tidehaven Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sweeny was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 25-12.

Belle Seibert paced Sweeny's offense, picking up 11 kills. Seibert got some help from Stevie Brown and her 14 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Sweeny has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Tidehaven, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sweeny will venture away from home to take on El Campo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Tidehaven, they will face off against Danbury at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
