Basketball Recap: Blackhawk Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Blackhawk couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Catholic Trojans on Saturday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Blackhawk lost, don't look at Aubree Hupp. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards. The game was Hupp's 34th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Sheesley, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points.

Blackhawk's defeat dropped their record down to 25-4. As for North Catholic, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Blackhawk does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Catholic, they will square off against Lansdale Catholic on Saturday. Lansdale Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
