Volleyball Recap: Normangee Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lovelady on Tuesday, Normangee came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Leon Cougars on Friday, falling 3-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-3, 25-10.

Addyson Phillips paced Normangee's offense, picking up three kills. Phillips also shared the team's lead in assists with Mia King: they picked up three each.

Normangee's defeat dropped their record down to 17-23. As for Leon, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Normangee is set to take on their familiar foe Iola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Leon will square off against rival Centerville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
