Eaton dropped to 16-4 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the University Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Reds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Bria Foster put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Johanna Galvan and Emma Anderson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Galvan went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Anderson went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Hofer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, University let Natalie Galindo and Emma Zacheis run wild. Another player making a difference was Bergen Duarte, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Eaton has already played their next contest, a 17-0 victory against Platte Valley on the 4th. As for University, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Resurrection Christian on the 7th.
