Baseball Recap: St. Croix Central Comes Up Short

St. Croix Central had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 6-13 to make it five. They fell just short of the Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks by a score of 5-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

St. Croix Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Pommier, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Baldwin-Woodville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.

On Baldwin-Woodville's side, the team relied heavily on JT Dachel, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Dachel has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Landon Veenendaal, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

As of now, neither St. Croix Central nor Baldwin-Woodville have any future games scheduled.
