Softball Recap: Odessa Extends Winning Streak to Three

Odessa entered their tilt with Warrensburg on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Tigers 8-1. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bella Blackaby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Odessa let Keely Byrd and Emery LaBoube run wild. Byrd got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while LaBoube went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits LaBoube has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kenna Pierson, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Odessa now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Warrensburg, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Odessa will be taking part in a tournament against Albany on Saturday. As for Warrensburg, they will be playing at home against Oak Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
