Basketball Recap: Mammoth Huskies vs. Rosamond Roadrunners

Mammoth lost against Rosamond back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mammoth Huskies had to suffer through a 70-10 loss at the hands of the Rosamond Roadrunners. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1248th, while the Roadrunners are ranked 490th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rosamond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadiyah Baladez, who went 8 for 10 en route to 19 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Baladez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Abigail Cardoza, who posted 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.

Mammoth dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Rosamond, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Mammoth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 79-17 loss against Kern Valley on the 24th. Rosamond has also already played their next contest, a 51-46 defeat against Quartz Hill on the 22nd.
