Soccer Game Preview: Downey vs. Modesto

The Downey Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Modesto Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Downey's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Downey's offense. They fell just short of Enochs by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Modesto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Pitman, falling 5-2. While losing is never fun, Modesto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 691st, while Pitman are ranked 240th).

Modesto's loss dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Downey, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1.
