Baseball Game Preview: Covenant Academy Rams vs. Crawford County Eagles

Covenant Academy is 0-3 against Crawford County since February of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Covenant Academy Rams will look to defend their home field against the Crawford County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Covenant Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Crisp Academy a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Ethan Mills was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden Korink, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Seth Daugherty, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.
