Baseball Game Preview: West Potomac Wolverines vs. Lake Braddock Bruins

West Potomac hasn't had much luck against Lake Braddock recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wolverines will head out to face off against the Bruins at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Potomac is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology with a sharp 19-2 win. The Wolverines' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Connor Winkelfoos was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joey Qutub, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

West Potomac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lake Braddock had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-1.

West Potomac now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Lake Braddock, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2.

West Potomac came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Braddock in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
