Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Chaparral

Vista Murrieta came into Wednesday's game looking for another win against Chaparral, but Zetta Faasua wouldn't allow it. The Chaparral Pumas sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over the Vista Murrieta Broncos on Wednesday thanks in part to Faasua, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last nine games she's played.

Despite the defeat, Vista Murrieta had strong showings from Shajade Banks, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds, and Alana Burnett, who posted eight points and 12 boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Chaparral and bumps their season record up to 13-7. As for Vista Murrieta, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-11.

Chaparral has already played their next matchup, a 59-35 win against Murrieta Mesa on the 24th. As for Vista Murrieta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-44 defeat against Temecula Valley on the 24th.
