Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Cosumnes Oaks

The Pleasant Grove Eagles will face off against the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove will be strutting in after a victory while Cosumnes Oaks will be coming in after a defeat.

Pleasant Grove's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Laguna Creek 3-0. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Cardinals are ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pleasant Grove hit Laguna Creek with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Monica Palafox, Madelynn Garcia, and Kylee Rocha.

Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks' game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Franklin by a score of 1-0. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Cosumnes Oaks' loss dropped their record down to 7-6-2. As for Pleasant Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season.

Pleasant Grove beat Cosumnes Oaks 2-0 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Pleasant Grove repeat their success, or does Cosumnes Oaks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
