White Pine posted their closest win since September 14, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Battle Mountain Longhorns, sneaking past 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Saturday.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day White Pine got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 15-9.

White Pine's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-1. As for Battle Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Battle Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Round Mountain on the 23rd. Hopefully White Pine paid attention to the Longhorns' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Longhorns at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
