Football Recap: Clay Center Comes Up Short

Clay Center's last matchup with Southeast of Saline could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Tigers were outmatched by the Trojans and fell 46-7. The Tigers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Clay Center lost, don't look at Eisaac Girton. Despite the final result, he rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown.

Southeast of Saline was led to victory by Grady Gebhardt and Gannon Jacobson. Gebhardt gained 230 total yards and five touchdowns, while Jacobson rushed for 56 yards and one TD. What's more, Gebhardt posted four rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Clay Center's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Southeast of Saline, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
