Basketball Recap: Payson Takes a Loss

Payson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 71-63 loss to the Shadow Ridge Stallions.

Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Shadow Ridge, they moved to 7-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Payson has already played their next game, a 61-44 loss against San Tan Foothills on the 7th. As for Shadow Ridge, they will challenge Boulder Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boulder Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Shadow Ridge likes a good challenge.
