Baseball Recap: Walker Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Walker was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of the Buford Wolves by a score of 3-2.

Walker got a good showing from Tyler Fallmann, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Fallmann has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Walker saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ramon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Walker has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. Buford has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Walker will face off against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Buford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prince Avenue Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Prince Avenue Christian sitting on four straight wins and Buford on three.
