Recap: Hesperia Scorpions vs. Burroughs Burros
The Hesperia Scorpions suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Burroughs, falling 68-29. While losing is never fun, Hesperia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while Burroughs is ranked 246th).
Berlynn Miramontes and Natalie Villegas certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Miramontes scored eight points, while Villegas scored no points.
Hesperia's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Burroughs, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hesperia will take on Apple Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Burroughs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
