Baseball Recap: Arrowhead's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Arrowhead lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Waukesha West, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Warhawks put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 11-2 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warhawks as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Jax Lindauer looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Arrowhead is 2-1 when Lindauer allows one or fewer hits, but 3-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Niko Frangopoulos and Colton Topp did most of the damage at the plate: Frangopoulos went 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Topp went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Frangopoulos has become a key player for Arrowhead: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 2-14 otherwise.

Arrowhead's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Waukesha West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arrowhead will welcome Sun Prairie West at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Waukesha West, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Grafton at 11:00 a.m. The Black Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
