Baseball Recap: Parker Comes Up Short

If Parker was feeling good fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Westside on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Braves came up short against the Stanton Blue Devils on Tuesday, falling 17-7. The loss continues a trend for the Braves in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost five in a row.

Parker saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was D Lovelace, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Lovelace is becoming a predictor of the Braves' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). B Frye was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Stanton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Coming up, Parker will be playing at home against Parsons Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stanton, they will face off against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
