Recap: San Juan Spartans vs. Burbank Titans
This season hasn't been kind to the San Juan Spartans, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were the victim of a rough 45-21 loss at the hands of Burbank on Thursday. San Juan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Burbank apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.
Burbank can attribute much of their success to Larayna Osako-Cain, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Tommiko Johnson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
San Juan's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Burbank, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Juan will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Armijo at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Armijo comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Burbank, they will head out on the road to face off against Mira Loma at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mira Loma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
