Football Game Preview: Iola Mustangs vs. Prairie View Buffalos

Iola is 2-8 against Prairie View since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Iola came up short against Burlington and fell 48-38.

Meanwhile, Prairie View came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their game with ease, bagging a 49-20 victory over the Trojans. 49 seems to be a good number for the Buffalos as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Iola better keep an eye on Parker Schwarz. He was instrumental in Prairie View's win, rushing for 298 yards and five scores while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Schwarz's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 184 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Attebery, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

Iola's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Prairie View, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
