Baseball Game Preview: Noxon Red Devils vs. Stevensville Yellowjackets

The Noxon Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Stevensville Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Noxon after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Ignatius. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Justice Kayser was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.

Kayser wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Barton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Barton has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Stevensville lost 18-3 to Frenchtown last Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Broncs: they've now lost four in a row.

Noxon's record now sits at 2-10. As for Stevensville, their record is now 3-8.
