Baseball Recap: Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Woodland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eagle's Landing Christian Academy). Everything went their way against the Woodland Wolfpack on Wednesday as the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers made off with a 26-10 win. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Wolfpack last Tuesday, they had to take a 10-9 loss.

Dylan Tinsley made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jay Hernandez was a standout: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy is 2-1 when Hernandez posts two or more runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aidin Mathews, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy will challenge Eagle's Landing at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Eagle's Landing Christian Academy has lost eight straight at home (dating back to last season), while Eagle's Landing has lost three on the road. As for Woodland, they will square off against Stockbridge at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. Woodland has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
