With a playoff win on the line, St. Thomas Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Apple Valley Eagles as they made off with a 39-13 victory. The Cadets' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Dominic Baez had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 139 yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Thomas Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 249 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 151 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.

St. Thomas Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Peter Olson and Luke Mechtel. Olson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Thomas Academy's record is now 9-0. As for Apple Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

St. Thomas Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
