Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only University walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Wellington Eagles on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won 16 contests in a row.

Sydney Goetzel and Jasi Cole made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Goetzel struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Cole pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. At bat, Goetzel went 3-for-4 with one double, while Cole went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bergen Duarte was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

University's record is now 26-2. As for Wellington, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 22-5-1.

University didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 victory against Eaton on the 25th. Wellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
