Basketball Recap: Jaci Crick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mississinewa over Manchester

After flying high against Tipton last Tuesday, Mississinewa came back down to earth. The Mississinewa Indians fell to the Manchester Squires 46-42. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Squires apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Mississinewa's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaci Crick, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Wilson, who scored nine points.

Manchester's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hanna Stout, who put up six points and three steals. Peyton Ream was another key player, going 6 of 11 on her way to 16 points.

Mississinewa's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Manchester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mississinewa will venture away from home to square off against Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Manchester, they will head out to challenge Peru at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Peru will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Manchester surely won't give up without a fight.
