Soccer Game Preview: Rochester vs. Columbia

The Rochester Rockets will face off against the Columbia Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Rochester sitting on eight straight victories and Columbia on four.

Rochester is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Effingham get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Considering Rochester have won ten matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Effingham with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Evan Lemme, Brenden McArdle, and Carson Berberet.

Father McGivney Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Columbia proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Griffins.

Rochester's win bumped their record up to 12-9-1. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5-3.

Rochester suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Columbia in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
