Meanwhile, Woodward Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-7 to Westminster. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the War Eagles' highest-scoring contest to date.

Kaitlyn Weeks was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those runs were her first of the season. Maya Hatch was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Woodward Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for St. Pius X Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

St. Pius X Catholic took their win against Woodward Academy in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
