Volleyball Recap: Sangre de Cristo Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sangre de Cristo suffered their biggest defeat since October 12, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Cheraw Wolverines, falling 3-0. The Thunderbirds have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Sangre de Cristo took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-18.

Belle Bieriger paced Sangre de Cristo's offense, picking up three kills. Bieriger got some help from Desarey Ojeda and her four assists. Kenna Culver controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Sangre de Cristo's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Cheraw, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Sangre de Cristo is taking a road trip to challenge La Veta at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cheraw, they will be playing at home against Las Animas at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
