Soccer Game Preview: La Salle vs. St. Genevieve

The La Salle Lancers will take on the St. Genevieve Valiants at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

La Salle fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Saint Joseph on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jesters by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Jesters are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Genevieve, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Valiants have won six games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

La Salle has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-2 record this season. As for St. Genevieve, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6-1.
