Softball Recap: Winterset Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Winterset barely beat Saydel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Winterset has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Saydel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Winterset didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-3 win against Martensdale-St. Mary's on the 20th. As for Saydel, they have also already played their next matchup, an 8-4 loss against Perry on the 20th.
