Baseball Recap: Kennett Eagles vs. Plymouth Bobcats
Kennett extended their losing streak to ten on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-15. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plymouth Bobcats. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 7-5.
Blake Royer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jonah Pepin, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
As for Plymouth, they moved to 6-11 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
On Plymouth's side, Matt Gagnon was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those two hits gave Gagnon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Magoon, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
