The South Effingham Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Milton Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
South Effingham is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Winder-Barrow with a sharp 15-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 15 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Cheniyah Jackson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Justine Nevels was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Swann, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
South Effingham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Milton waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the War Eagles.
Elizabeth Wilkes was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Kylie Bogda also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
South Effingham's record is now 21-3. As for Milton, their record now sits at 17-10.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Effingham hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Milton struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
