The Silver Lake Eagles will head out to square off against the Riley County Falcons on Friday. Silver Lake will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Silver Lake is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Baldwin 47-7. The Eagles pushed the score to 33-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Silver Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayne Johnson led the charge by picking up 203 receiving yards and three scores. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kipton Kruger, who threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt.
Silver Lake's run defense was locked in: Baldwin could only muster 3.3 yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Johnson stood above the rest. He picked up 203 receiving yards and three TDs. Silver Lake's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.2.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Silver Lake, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Owen Rottinghaus, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Riley County after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was St. Marys who ended up claiming the real prize. The Falcons fell 22-13 to the Bears. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 7-0 in the first quarter.
Silver Lake's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.0 points over those games. As for Riley County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Silver Lake barely slipped by Riley County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 43-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
