Baseball Game Preview: Seckinger Jaguars vs. Johns Creek Gladiators

The Seckinger Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Johns Creek Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Seckinger 3.7, Johns Creek 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

It was a proper cat-fight when Seckinger duked it out with Chattahoochee on Friday. Seckinger's pitchers stepped up to hand Chattahoochee a 4-0 shutout. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Seckinger got a great performance from Landon Niemotka as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Niemotka a new career-low in walks (one).

At the plate, Seckinger saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden O'Brien, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. John Moreno was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Johns Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lanier 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Gladiators, who have now won four contests in a row.

Seckinger's record now sits at 11-4. As for Johns Creek, their record now sits at 10-3.
