Soccer Game Preview: Irvington vs. American

Irvington hasn't had much luck against American recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Irvington Vikings will challenge the American Eagles at 3:30 p.m.

Irvington is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They lost 5-2 to Mission San Jose.

Meanwhile, American's game on Thursday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Washington. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

They hit Washington with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abigail Peterman, Julia Ignatov, Sakiko Itoi, and Yaalini Gokul.

American's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those three matches. As for Irvington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Irvington suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to American in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Irvington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
