Basketball Recap: Golden West Comes Up Short

Golden West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by the El Diamante Miners and fell 67-13. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 908th, while the Miners are ranked 215th).

Scarlett Munoz was Golden West's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Liliana Delgado took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Golden West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for El Diamante, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Golden West will square off against Mt. Whitney at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Golden West is facing Mt. Whitney at the right time seeing as Mt. Whitney is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for El Diamante, they will head out on the road to face off against Monache at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. El Diamante knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Monache likes a good challenge.
