Baseball Recap: New Hampstead Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, New Hampstead finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 16-1 to the Jenkins Warriors. The game marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

New Hampstead saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danieal Rico, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Rico has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, New Hampstead fell to 5-1. As for Jenkins, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Hampstead will venture away from home to take on Ware County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jenkins, they will head out on the road to square off against Bryan County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
