Hillsboro dropped down to 7-7 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Cor Jesu Academy Chargers by a score of  10-8. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 Hillsboro saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Haylie Boyette, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Hannah Dubois also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
As for Cor Jesu Academy, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
 On Cor Jesu Academy's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Grace Rasmussen, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  three  hits gave  Rasmussen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Lauren Overbey, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Coming up, Hillsboro will head out on the road to  square off against  Windsor  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Cor Jesu Academy, they will face off against Rockwood Summit at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
