Basketball Recap: Lamar Consolidated Wins Going Away Against Spring Woods

A well-balanced attack led Lamar Consolidated over Spring Woods in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 65-40 win. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 43-38 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

Ty'Riq Lane had an outrageously good game as he shot 64% from the field en route to 24 points and five boards. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Reyes, who posted seven points.

The win got Lamar Consolidated back to even at 1-1. As for Spring Woods, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar Consolidated will face off against Almeta Crawford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Spring Woods, they will challenge Sharpstown at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
