Quincy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the East Nicolaus Spartans with a sharp 63-40 win on Thursday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Shelby Nussle, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Skylar McCarthy, who posted three points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

When it comes to explaining why East Nicolaus lost, don't look at Rylee Gillespie. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avelina Machado, who had nine points.

Quincy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points over those games. East Nicolaus' loss dropped their record down to 17-12.

Coming up, Quincy will challenge Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. East Nicolaus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
