Softball Recap: Twiggs Academy Takes a Loss

Twiggs Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the David Emanuel Academy Eagles, falling 11-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 16-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for David Emanuel Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games.

For David Emanuel Academy's part, Emily McRae was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave McRae a new career-high. Kate Yeomans also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Coming up, Twiggs Academy will be playing at home against Citizens Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for David Emanuel Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Pinewood Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
