Football Game Preview: Archbishop McNicholas Rockets vs. Archbishop Alter Knights

Archbishop McNicholas is 2-8 against Archbishop Alter since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Rockets will head out to take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Archbishop McNicholas sitting on four straight wins and Archbishop Alter on three.

On Friday, Archbishop McNicholas got the win against Chaminade Julienne Catholic by a conclusive 34-12. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-0.

Brody Reinhart went supernova, rushing for 123 yards and two TDs. Michael Ciambelli was another key player, rushing for 31 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Alter). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-0 victory over Carroll. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Knights with their most commanding win of the season.

Archbishop McNicholas better keep an eye on Noah Jones. He was instrumental in Archbishop Alter's win, rushing for 92 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Rod Owens Jr., who rushed for 25 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Archbishop Alter was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 229 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 214 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Archbishop McNicholas' record is now 5-2. As for Archbishop Alter, their record now sits at an identical 5-2.

Archbishop McNicholas didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Archbishop Alter in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 7-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
