Soccer Game Preview: Des Moines East vs. Johnston

Des Moines East hasn't had much luck against Johnston recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Scarlets are taking a road trip to take on the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Des Moines East managed to slip by Marshalltown the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Scarlets came up short against the Bobcats on Friday, falling 6-2. Des Moines East just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, Johnston faced Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Dragons fell 2-0 to the Tigers.

Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 8-5-5. As for Des Moines East, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 13-3-1.

Des Moines East might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Johnston when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Scarlets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
